Have you ever been to a funeral, and wonder if you were in the right room? You know, where you go to pay your last respects to a good friend, and then the eulogy paints him/her to such a degree of almost saintliness, that you wonder: “I knew that John was an awfully good guy, but I didn’t know he was THAT good!”

The attributes mentioned were great, but you never saw them exhibited in all the years you knew him. It does seem that eulogies seem to paint a little different picture of the person we knew and loved.

Did you ever notice that?

Well, the page entitled `Who is this Author` is somewhat similar. By the time you read the attributes, you don’t know whether to read the book – or kneel for a blessing.

Well, not to worry about this description. It is pretty straight forward. Here is the story:

Ron Millicent has no degrees of advance psychology courses in his background. He cannot be found in any directory, anywhere. He has no claim of international, or national, fame of any kind.

So, who the heck is he?

He is a happy contented fellow.

That is really saying a lot in this time of craziness. What is his secret? Can it be used by anyone?

Consider:

Grew up in Hawaii before it was a state (whoa!)

3 Years in the US Army (probably contributed to his 1st Sgt’s early retirement)

Two sons He actually enjoys being with them (Was Best Man at younger son’s wedding)

Two siblings They actually like each other, and enjoy being together (Go Figure)

Grandchildren He thinks they like him but most of them are too young to have any standards so we can’t count them)

Two older Grandchildren They seem to like him

Drove his convertible through the:

French Alps,

Swiss Alps,

Italian Alps.

Taught English on a Greek Island when he did not know one word of Greek

He is reasonably fluent in One Language (his native language)

Had reached the pinnacle of his profession

Has varied, and close friends going back 30-35 years

Has traveled to 16 countries some more than once

Has traveled to 11 Islands some more than once

Has traveled to Vicari Sicily – to visit relatives (Then discovered they didn’t speak English, and he didn’t speak Italian)

Practiced with his brother for a road rally but crashed during the practice

Actually understands a little of Quantum Physics

Is a passionate believer in the Biblical passage which reads, ““If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23 KJV

Goes through life with a tremendous dose of optimism, and a grin

Works with veterans to unravel the damage, and to reignite on life

Has unique insight that you will benefit from and get a chuckle in the bargain

You see, I figure that he has such a varied background and has had so many experiences that he can’t help but have learned valuable lessons of life and he has the unique capability of passing them on with passion and humor. This fellow knows something about Self Esteem

Altogether it is a great read!
